Denmark was the first part of our cycle tour before we caught the ferry to Norway. Jutland in northern Denmark did not disappoint with wonderful scenery, wildlife and history to discover everyday.
The cycling infrastructure was excellent, with euro velo 12 following the coast and many national routes inland. All well sign posted.
Some nights we used a shelter, not unique to Denmark. A wooden structure you can sleep in overnight some having other amenities such as dry toilet, table, water and fire pit. These are free (in most cases) to use.
Now you have read the boring bits head over to Komoot and enjoy our stories and lots more photos

Top Tip
Denmark has great campsites, all the ones we stayed at had flat pitches, with excellent facilities which included free hot water, a kitchen with ovens and hobs including all utensils, pots and pans. Most had a toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Once you had cooked and eaten everything was supplied to wash and dry the dishes. Two sites had a dishwasher.
For this the cost of a pitch was between 15 and 25 euro.
To find the shelters, campsites and discover local rides, walks and swimming in Jutland we used the website udinaturen.dk
